West Coast Fever mid-court Jordan Cransberg says the team is ready to get the job done from third as the Suncorp Super Netball finals kick off this weekend.

A 76-56 win over the Mavericks last weekend has locked in third place and a home minor semi-final this weekend.

The battle for the top two went down to the wire, with the Fever narrowly missing out on percentage – needing four more goals against the Mavericks to lock in the double chance.

However, Cransberg says the opportunity to win a second SSN title from third place is exciting and one the team is ready to embrace.

“There’s benefits to all different ways and we see the benefit in the way that we’re going to have to do it,” she told SportFM.

“We have to beat every team in finals to win the grand final and that’s really exciting. How good of an opportunity to say we have beaten every other team to get here.

“I always think in finals it’s better to play every week, so that’s what we’re going to have to do. That’ll give us a bit of continuity and routine in our training as well as games.

“It’d be great to have a double chance but (we’re) quite happy with where we are and what we need to do to get the job done.”

On Sunday afternoon, the Fever will host the Sunshine Coast Lightning at RAC Arena in a must-win Minor Semi Final.

Once again, the West Coast Fever has smashed their own crowd attendance record for the regular season with 11,841 fans showing up last Saturday.

This marks the third occasion the Fever has achieved this feat in 2024 and Cransberg hopes that figure can be beaten again on Sunday.

“They were incredible on the weekend. We had a home game regular season record, which is really, really cool,” she said.

“That was the loudest I’ve ever heard of the Green Army since I’ve been with Fever.

“(I’m) hoping to get another really big crowd on Sunday. I think they always play such a big role in getting us across the line.”

The Minor Semi Final between the West Coast Fever and Sunshine Coast Lightning starts at 12:00 pm AWST at RAC Arena.
