36ers lead coaching candidate withdraws

The Adelaide 36ers coach recruitment drive to replace Joey Wright has been dealt a major blow after the frontrunner withdrew from the race.

Adam Caporn, who was set to be appointed to the role is currently the head coach at Basketball Australia's (BA) Centre of Excellence and went through the process but it's believed job security in the current climate was the main reason for Caporn to turn down the role.

Attention will now turn to other candidates including former Wildcats and current Sydney Kings assistant coach Adam Forde and former Taipans head coach Aaron Fearne.
