Afghanistan Test put on ice

Cricket Australia has today confirmed the proposed Test match against Afghanistan in Hobart.

CA said in a statement "CA is committed to support growing the game for women and men in Afghanistan and around the world, however, given the present uncertainty, CA felt it necessary to postpone the Test match until a later time when the situation is clearer. CA looks forward to hosting Afghanistan players in the BBL this season, who are great ambassadors for the game, and to hosting both the Afghanistan women’s and men’s team in the not too distant future."

An extended Australian squad will instead meet in Brisbane and play a three day intra squad match from December 1.

In other fixture news, Tasmania and Western Australia will play their upcoming Marsh Sheffield Shield match at Blundstone Arena on November 21-24 and a Marsh One-Day Cup match on November 26.
