Ascot meeting called off

Wednesday's meeting at Ascot has been abandoned for the day after Racing Victoria suspended all meetings until Friday whilst a participant under went COVID -19 testing.

The participant in Victoria informed officials that the health department has told them that they had been on the same flight as a confirmed case of COVID - 19.

Racing Victoria said the participant was displaying no signs of the illness.

It's understood the participant being tested came into contact with a WA based jockey William Pike in Melbourne last weekend and the reason why RWWA in conjunction with Perth Racing called off the last five races under precautionary measures.

More details on when race meetings will resume will be announced on Thursday.
