Aussies all over England to claim Ashes

Australia have regained the Ashes after a dominant innings and 14-run victory over England at the MCG.

The Aussies are now 3-nil leaders in the series with still two matches to play.

Scott Boland on debut was exceptional for the home side claiming six second innings wickets (6/7) to bowl the old enemy out for just 68.

Cameron Green claimed the final wicket of the match with the Aussies taking just one-hour and twenty minutes to wrap things up on the third day.

Captain Pat Cummins post-play couldn't believe what had unfolded.

“I don’t think it’s really fully hit me,” Cummins said.

“Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, those guys were the captains I grew up watching and idolising.

“So to be in that similar position ... it’s just awesome.”

The selectors will now face some tough decisions leading into the Sydney Test match with Josh Hazlewood and Jhye Richardson expected to be fit to play leaving Boland at risk despite his Melbourne performance of potentially missing out on selection.
