Aussies confirm double blow for Davis Cup tie

Australia will be without Nick Kyrgios and Alex de Minaur for next week's Davis Cup clash against Brazil in Adelaide.

Kyrgios has been battling a wrist complaint while de Minaur has not recovered from the abdominal injury that saw him miss the Australian Open.

Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt said it wasn't an easy decision for them to withdraw.

“Both are disappointed, both guys love playing in the team environment and playing for Australia,” Hewitt said on Friday.

“It’s not an easy decision but at the end of the day you have got to go off the medical advice."

John Peers and Alex Bolt have been included in the squad as replacements.

The winner of the tie will progress to the Davis Cup finals in Spain in November.
