Aussies through to ATP cup semis
Australia are through to a ATP cup semi-final after defeating Great Britain in a thriller quarter-final in Sydney.
Nick Kyrgios and Alex De Minaur teamed up for the doubles tie in a shock selection gamble by captain Lleyton Hewitt replacing John Peers and Chris Guccione.
De Minaur backed up from his over three hour singles match to keep the Aussies in the contest to go on with Kyrgios to prevail over Jamie Murray and Joe Sailsbury 3-6, 6-3, 18-16.
Earlier, Kyrgios got Australia off to a perfect start with a straight sets 6-2,6-2 win over Cameron Norrie.
De Minaur then took to the court and was downed by Dan Evans 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 to send the tie into a live doubles.
Russia will face Argentina in the second quarter-final on Thursday evening.
