World number one Ash Barty has started 2022 in fine style winning the Adelaide International in straight sets.
Barty confirmed her home slam favouritism with an emphatic 6-3, 6-2 victory over Elena Rybakina.
Her straight-sets victory over the Kazakh improved Barty's record against top-20 rivals to a super impressive 17-1 since the beginning of last year.
Barty is also appearing in the women's doubles final with American Storm Sanders.
She will head to this week's Sydney Tennis Classic full of confidence ahead of the Open starting on January 17.
