Bulldog Blechynden wins Siena’s Player of The Day

South Fremantle midfielder Tom Blechynden's excellent season has continued, winning the Siena’s player of the day for his 28 disposals, 9 tackles and 5 inside 50’s against East Perth on Saturday.

Blechynden has been a consistent contributor over the past three seasons, recording top five finishes in the last two best and fairest counts having become a premiership player in just his tenth game in 2020.

The Pingelly product, who trained with West Coast and was listed as a covid top up AFL player in 2022, was pleased to record a win to give his club premiership points heading in to the state game bye.

“We were very sluggish early, both teams fought on well and we were pleased to get the win,” Blechynden told 91.3 Sport FM post match.

“We just have to keep winning to make the premiership points up we lost (pre-season). We have to keep playing good footy and focus on that.”

Blechynden wins a $100 voucher to spend at station sponsor Siena’s Restaurant in Leederville, as the round six player of the day.
