Bulldogs add son of a gun for 2020
South Fremantle has signed Northern Territory Thunder product Ben Rioli for the 2020 season.
The 26 year old becomes the fifth Rioli to play for the Bulldogs, his late father Sebastian having played 51 games for the club from 1971-76.
South Fremantle general manager of football and community Marty Atkins said the club was delighted to secure Rioli's services.
"I was talking to him on the phone and he was like a kid in a lolly shop." Atkins told Sports Drive on Monday.
"He can't wait to come down to Perth and continue the family name at the Bulldogs."
Rioli played 128 games for the NT Thunder, who are no longer involved in the NEAFL competition from 2020 onwards having initially formed in 2008.
He has signed a two year contract with the club, with former player Steven Edwards also confirmed to return after sitting out the 2019 season due to work commitments.
