Five AFL clubs have been sanctioned for non-compliance of Covid testing and testing reporting protocols.
The Sydney Swans were the hardest hit fined $100,000 with $50,000 to be included in the clubs soft cap in the 2022 or 2023 season.
Collingwood were fined $50,000 with 50 per cent to be included in the clubs soft cap in this season or next while Richmond will pay a $25,000 fine and half will be included in the clubs soft cap in either this season or next.
Brisbane and St Kilda were reprimanded and handed a $25,000 suspended fine.
Clubs were sanctioned by the AFL Integrity Department after they identified a series of non-compliance issues with the Protocols at some Clubs during the current AFL season included, not undertaking a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within the period prescribed by the Protocols, and/or, not uploading an image (photograph) of a prescribed RAT within the period prescribed by the Protocols; and/or, Uploading an image taken of a previous RAT undertaken by that or another person.
