Cotton signs on for three years

Perth Wildcats star Bryce Cotton will remain with the club for at least the next three seasons, the franchise announced on Wednesday.

Cotton, who joined the side in 2017 and has become one of the greatest players in Perth's illustrious history, winning 3 MVP's and two Grand Final MVP's.

The point guard will now be part of the club until he is at least 32 years old. If he avoids injury, he will move beyond 250 games for Perth and into the top 10 of all time for the most matches played in red.

“This is extremely exciting for me and my family, as well as the club,” Cotton said. “The past six seasons have been amazing, and I now get to paint the canvas some more for the next three years.”

He joins vice-captain Mitch Norton in being locked away beyond next season, allowing the club to start focusing on what they need to help them to succeed.

“Bryce committing to three more years is a fantastic outcome for the club and we’re excited to see him in a Wildcats uniform going forward,” Wildcats general manager of basketball operations Danny Mills said.

“As we look toward free agency, it’s exciting to have cornerstone pieces like Bryce as well as Mitch Norton signed on multi-year deals, and we’ll continue to work on what we want the roster to look like next season.”

Cotton led the NBL for scoring in NBL22 and finished runner-up in the MVP award.
