Cricket Australia stands down staff
Cricket Australia has joined the large list of sporting organisations to be forced to stand down staff.
CA will move to "all but skeleton staff' from April 27 and will run until the end of the financial year.
In a statement CA said: “The impacts on the sports industry of the coronavirus pandemic are bigger than anyone in sport,”
“Cricket Australia - like all sporting bodies - is planning for a return to training/play although no one is certain when this will be possible at this stage, and many scenarios are being considered.
“We are conscious of the impact this will have on Australian Cricket and are working hard to manage that proactively.
Recently Cricket Australia announced the tour of Bangladesh had been cancelled while the Indian Premier League has been suspended indefinitely.
The home T20 world cup due to begin in October is also in some doubt.
