Darling could have fate settled this week

Eagles forward Jack Darling could have his future settled this week when the club's board meet on Wednesday.

Channel 7's Ryan Daniels reports that Darling could have the remainder of his contract terminated or he could be placed on the inactive list for 2022 allowing them to add a replacement player.

It's also reported that Darling has not communicated with the club since the first jab mandate date passed.

Earlier, Eagles premiership midfielder Dom Sheed said "It's hard to support his decision."

"It's his decision. everyone's got a decision whether they get the vaccine or not, and he's decided not to.

"It's hard to support his decision, but we support him as an individual."

In the absence of Darling and Oscar Allen who is in a moon-boot, defender Tom Barrass was trialled up forward in the Eagles intraclub last week while WAFL forwards Tyler Keitel and Hugh Dixon are also in the mix.

West Coast take on Fremantle in a closed pre-season hit-out on Friday at Optus Stadium.
