Dockers lose more to Covid, Amiss to debut

Fremantle have lost more players ahead of their Friday night clash with North Melbourne, Lloyd Meek, Griffin Logue and Michael Frederick added to the list of players in health and safety protocols on Wednesday.

The trio follow Rory Lobb, Blake Acres and Travis Colyer who are already in isolation, ruled out early in the week.

Dockers coach Justin Longmuir confirmed the outs at his weekly press conference.

"At this stage Griffin Logue will join the three (Lobb, Colyer, Acres) in the health and safety protocols. Michael Frederick and Lloyd Meek as well. We've got six out, but we're pretty confident that's all." he said at the club's Cockburn training headquarters.

"Our players have been diligent with Covid protocols all year, and this is probably just a by-product of being in close proximity for such a long time, it's quite inevitable."

The club confirmed a debut for key forward Jye Amiss, taken with pick 8 in the 2021 draft.

The 18 year old Busselton product has kicked nine goals in three games for Peel Thunder, having eased his way back form a knee injury which curtailed his pre-seaosn.

"It's exciting news for the Club. His last three games at Peel have been really solid and I've been really impressed with the way he has approached learning the game plan and the roles in the forward line," Longmuir said.

"He possesses some elite forward craft and has been hitting the scoreboard. He has been in good form and deserves his opportunity."

The Friday night fixture with North Melbourne begins at 6:40 PM and marks the first Friday night fixture for the Dockers in Perth since July 2016.
