Dockers make light work of Kangaroos

The Dockers have improved their record to six wins from seven matches after cruising to a 78-point win over the Kangaroos.

A five goal opening term began the rout for the home side running away with a 15.12.102 to 3.6.24 victory.

Debutant Jye Amiss joined the first kick first goal club in one of many highlights for the Purple Army.

Amiss went onto kick two majors while Bailey Banfield, Michael Walters and Sam Switowski also booted two goals.

Coach Justin Longmuir said he was really proud of the way the players jumped into their task.

"We have a fierce determination and a commitment to the way we defend. That’s all I can ask as a coach."

Fremantle sit on the top of the table currently and Longmuir said "it was a moment in time".

"I do take joy out of how well we’re playing, how the players are looking after each other on the field and holding each other to high standards off it. They’re the things you take notice of and the ladder is a bi-product."

The Dockers now have a nine-day break before taking on the Gold Coast in round nine.
