Dockers score pre-season derby triumph

A five-goal final term from the Dockers has seen them snatch defeat by just one-point against the Eagles in the pre-season derby.

Michael Walters scored the defining behind to secure Fremantle a 8.7.55 to 7.12.54 victory.

Michael Walters and Bailey Banfield kicked two majors each for Fremantle while Dom Sheed was the only multiple goal scorer for West Coast.

The result sees the Dockers undefeated in the pre-season while the Eagles went winless.

Both sides were missing a number of players including James Aish, Luke Ryan, Connor Blakely, Brandon Matera, Joel Hamling, Alex Pearce, David Mundy and Jesse Hogan for the Dockers while Jack Darling, Oscar Allen, Brendan Ah Chee and Bailey Williams were missing for the Eagles.

Justin Longmuir's side play Essendon in round one at Marvel Stadium while the Eagles host Melbourne at Optus Stadium.
