Dockers start AFLW season on a high

The Dockers are on the board in AFLW 2020 scoring a 16-point win over Geelong at Fremantle Oval.

Sabreena Duffy kicked four goals to boot Fremantle to a 6.8.44 to 4.4.28 triumph.

Scores were all tied up at three-quarter-time but aided by a strong breeze in the final term the Dockers made the final quarter running.

Kiara Bowers led the way in the disposals count gathering 22 touches while Hayley Miller and Gemma Houghton had 17 possessions each.

One of Fremantle's six debutants, Roxanne Roux kicked a goal to prove she fits in seamlessly at AFLW level.

Incredibly at the end of the round the Dockers are outside the top four in conference B despite the victory.

Fremantle and West Coast will meet next week for an historic first time AFLW derby at Optus Stadium.
