Dockers survive Power surge

The Dockers are now a game clear inside the top four after outlasting a fast finishing Power by just eight-points.

Rory Lobb kicked a career high five goals to set up the 15.9.99 to 14.7.91 triumph.

Fremantle led by 40-points at one stage but the Power kicked five goals either side of three quarter-time to reduce the margin back to single digits.

Port Adelaide wasted opportunities late with both Robbie Gray and Todd Marshall missing convertible shots at goal.

Coach Justin Longmuir said they lost the upper hand around the ball and let Port Adelaide back in the contest.

"There’s a lot to like, we didn’t jump into the game that well and they kicked three goals and then I think we kicked 14 to six ,or something like that, for nearly two and half quarters so there’s a lot to like. But we got a little bit of a lesson in that last quarter, if you drop your intensity and you don’t get your method right, the game can swing pretty quick.

The Dockers next face St Kilda on Saturday night at Marvel Stadium.
