Dockers win AFLW derby

The Dockers have continued their dominance in AFLW derbies defeating their cross town rivals by 28-points.

Ebony Antonio booted three goals for Fremantle to be the star of the show and to create history by sharing the best on ground medal with Kiara Bowers.

Bowers had 23 touches, 14 of which were contested, 13 tackles and six clearances.

Dockers skipper Hayley Miller also booted two goals in the 6.7.43 to 2.3.15 triumph.

Fremantle led by just five-points at three quarter time only to be aided by a stiff breeze in the final quarter to boot three unanswered goals.

Eagles skipper Emma Swanson booted their first goal but could also come under criticism for making high contact after a goal to opposing captain Miller.

Dockers coach Trent Cooper said it was a great way to start the season.

“In some ways it probably has more merit because West Coast are improving,”

“We’ve got quite a young list and had less experience than West Coast on the park today. It’s good for those six debutants to step into such a fierce game and produce."

Both teams will now hit the road until the WA border is released on February 5.
