Eagles coach "furious" over nightclub turnout

Eagles coach Adam Simpson has expressed his disappointment after players were found to be at a Leederville nightclub on Saturday night.

Photos have since emerged of defenders Jackson Nelson and Josh Rotham in attendance just a day after West Coast suffered a 109-point loss to Richmond in Perth.

"I am furious and disappointed with the actions of these players," Simpson said in the club statement.

Simpson and eight players are unavailable for Saturday's match against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba because of COVID-19.

"Given the current environment and the peak in COVID-19 cases in Perth, the club is devastated that some players opted to go out publicly as they have done," a club spokesperson said in the statement.
