Eagles fail against rising Suns

The Eagles have been held goalless until the final quarter in their AFLW clash against the Gold Coast.

West Coast went onto kick two goals in that last term to be defeated 7.5.47 to 2.2.14.

Kate Bartlett kicked the Eagles’ first goal following a kind bounce and Aisling McCarthy added their second a short time later.

Dana Hooker and Emma Swanson (17 disposals each) worked hard for West Coast.

Coach Michael Prior post-game said they were beaten in all aspects of the game.

“At the end of the day it comes down to will, want and endeavour. I thought our last quarter was better than our first three but the game was gone by then.”

“It’s not the way we want to play and we need to do better than that and get back on the horse right away.”

“We showed signs last week but we need to believe we are good enough to beat teams and stick together.”

West Coast return home next Sunday to face Essendon.
