Five-goal Borchet wins SportFM's player of the round

Subiaco forward Ryan Borchet has won the Siena’s SportFM WAFL player of the match award after his five-goal haul helped Subiaco overcome western suburb neighbour Claremont on Saturday.

“I love pasta so this is most welcome,” he said.

Playing his first league game this season, Borchet kicked 5.1 in the 24-point win at Leederville Oval and nearly completed the most spectacular mark of the year.

Boasting the most prominent mullet in the competition, Borchet had a delayed start to the season after being concussed in the pre-season.

The 2019 premiership player is on the verge of 100 goals for the Lions after the fourth five-goal haul of his 52-game career.

The SportFM commentators voted him as the best player in the round 3 game ahead of team-mates Galen Savigni and Koltyn Tholstrup, and Claremont ruckman Ollie Eastland.

Siena’s, of Leederville, will provide a $100 voucher to the best player in the SportFM match of the round this season.
