Former West Coast Eagle Dean Laidley has been arrested and will spend Sunday night behind bars.

The 53-year-old played 52-games with the Eagles before moving to the Kangaroos post the inaugural grand final victory in 1992 which he did not play in.

Laidley went onto coach North Melbourne in 149-games between 2003 & 2009.

Victorian Police released a statement on Sunday evening:

“He was charged with stalking and other matters.

“The Moonee Ponds man was held over to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today, Sunday 3 May.

“He was remanded to appear at the same court on 11 May.
