Fyfe sustains hamstring injury in tense draw

Dockers skipper Nat Fyfe will spend more time on the sidelines after being subbed out of Friday night's clash against Richmond.

Fyfe limped from the ground during the third quarter in a worrying side for Fremantle just four weeks out from finals.

Coach Justin Longmuir said they'll get it scanned to determine the severity.

“He’s a pro, he had a smile on his face and he got around his teammates,”

“This is a roadbump, that’s the way I see this,”

“We’ve got over his big injuries and sometimes when you’re trying to come back and trying to be really committed, you can have little setbacks and that’s all this is, just hopefully a little setback.”

It was an intense finish to the game the two sides unable to be separated at the final siren 7.10.52 apiece - the first draw of the 2022 season.

The Dockers couldn't find a multiple goal scored and miss the presence of Rory Lobb up forward to miss the game with shoulder soreness.

Hayden Young was Freo's best collecting 31-disposals and Longmuir believes he has really matured.

"I thought he as superb today. I’m not sure how many games he is up to now but it is probably mid-high 20s but he plays so much above that. I thought him and Brennan Cox and (Alex) Pearce especially in the second half were really strong down there."

Next up for Fremantle its Melbourne on Friday night at Optus Stadium while Richmond face Brisbane at the MCG on Sunday.
