Glory confirm staff changes

Perth Glory has announced a raft of changes to it's staff ahead of the 2020-21 A-League season, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

Former player Steven McGarry has been promoted to A-League assistant coach under new boss Richard Garcia, Ruben Zadkovich coming in to operate as both a second A-League Assistant Coach and PGFC Academy Head Coach and Chris Coyne being appointed PGFC Academy Under-20s Head Coach.

Former Fremantle Dockers head of strength and conditioning Jason Weber has been appointed as the new Strength and Conditioning Coach.

McGarry made 114 A-League appearances for Glory between 2009 and 2014, before moving into coaching and he joined the PGFC Academy in 2018 as Technical Director, a position which he will remain in despite his promotion to assistant coach.

Former Socceroos defender and Perth local Coyne also has a strong track record in the NPL, guiding Bayswater City to a clutch of trophies after spending the final two seasons of his playing career with his hometown club.

The announcements come after the depature of Head of Football Jacob Burns, confirmed by the club on Tuesday.

Players Jake Brimmer and Tomislav Mrcela and new recruits Andrew Nabbout and Nathaniel Martin have all recently left the club, leaving the club short on personnel ahead of the resumption of their Asian Champions League campaign next month.
