Glory headed home for Christmas

Perth Glory players and staff have been granted permission to finish their 14-days quarantine at home.

The group has been in isolation in Brisbane since Thursday December 16 when a travelling member tested positive for COVID.

Thursday's flight home won't come quick enough for the Glory but CEO Tony Pignata was quick to thank authorities.

“We have worked very closely with Queensland Health, WA Health and WA Police to secure this outcome,” he said, “and I would like to register the club’s sincere appreciation of their efforts.

“The health and well-being of our players and staff has been the top priority throughout and we are extremely pleased that they will now be able to complete their quarantine at home in Perth.

“I would also like to thank the players and staff for the resilience they have shown under extremely difficult circumstances and our Members and fans for the fantastic support they have provided throughout this period.”

The Glory will arrive home on a charter flight and then will head straight to their approved premises for the remaining seven-days.
