Glory make it six straight

Perth Glory has produced a club record sixth consecutive victory, defeating Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 at Bankwest Stadium on Sunday evening.

Bruno Fornaroli's strike in the seventh minute was the only goal of the match, with three goals disallowed during the match through use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Fornaroli found space after an errant pass from Wanderers defender Dylan McGowan and was able to beat the dive of keeper Daniel Lopar, the ball deflecting off his gloves to give the Glory an early lead.

The Perth recruit had picked up a yellow card just moments earlier for a rough challenge on Patrick Zeigler, but again showed his class in front of goal to score his eight goal for his new club.

Kwame Yeboah looked to have equalised for Western Sydney in the 56th minute, but the goal was overruled on review, with the ball striking his forearm before finding the back of the net.

Joel Chianese was again dynamic for the visitors, having two goals disallowed during the match but providing plenty of energy forward of the ball.

Western Sydney attacked relentlessly for most of the second half in an improved performance but couldn't find an equaliser, the result heaping more pressure on embattled coach Markus Babbel.

Perth will face second placed Melbourne City next Saturday, in a battle for second spot on the A-League table.
