Glory run rampant over Jets

Perth Glory have recorded a stunning 6-2 victory against the lowly Newcastle Jets.


Saturday's victory is a continuation of recent form for Perth who have won three games in a row.


Bruno Fornaroli and Diego Castro led the way for the home side helping themselves to two goals apiece.


Neil Kilkenny and Joel Chianese also hit the scoreboard for the Glory.


Perth broke out early to a 2-0 advantage before a response from the Jets.


The Glory extended their lead immediately after half-time to 3-1 before the Jets pegged another back. Fornaroli completed his two before Castro added the icing on the cake.


Coach Tony Popovic was delighted by the performance.


"We keep improving and those chances we were creating earlier in the season are now starting to go in." Popovic said.


"Overall I thought we played very well.


"It's a great way to finish this part of the season off before Christmas and I'm sure our fans will enjoy Christmas a lot more now.


Perth have climbed a spot to be now fourth on the A-League ladder.
