Graceful Girl steals the show at Ascot

Graceful Girl has stormed home in an eye catching performance to claim the $1million Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot.

Turning the bend into the straight Graceful Girl could see the entire field in front of her.

Jockey William Pike went to work and the mare collared the favourite Elite Street with 150m to go to win by two and three quarter lengths.

Stageman made it quinella for Bob Peters while Elite Street finished third.

Later it was revealed Elite Street bled from both nostrils post race and will now be set for a stint on the sidelines.

The Peters stable could be set for the group one trifecta after claiming the Railway Stakes with Western Empire last weekend and the horse set to go around again next Saturday in the Kingstown Town Classic.
