Green gets maiden Australia call up
Young WA all-rounder Cameron Green has been rewarded for a stellar twelve months in domestic cricket, the 21 year old named in Australia's limited overs squads to play India next month.
Green was one of three West Australians selected for the ODI and T20I series against India, with fellow all-rounders Ashton Agar and Marcus Stoinis joining him in the squad.
Mitch Marsh was not considered because of injury, instead likely to return for Australia A ahead of the Test series in December.
Chairman of Selectors Trevor Hohns said Green had made a compelling case to be selected.
"Cameron's domestic form has been outstanding and he has carried it through for Western Australia this summer," he said.
"As a potential player of the future this is an opportunity for him to be part of the squad and build on his experience."
Veteran Moises Henriques has earned a surprise recall off great form for New South Wales to start this summer, making 167 against WA last week.
"Moises is a tremendous cricketer with loads of experience and is a great person to have around the group," Hohns said.
"His form was extremely impressive in leading the Sixers to the BBL title last summer and he has played well at the start of this season."
The inclusions of Green and Henriques come after Marsh suffered an ankle injury last month that's set to sideline him until December.
The ODI series commences on November 27, while the T20I series will follow from December 4.
The Test series commences less than two weeks later on December 17th with a day night Test in Adelaide, with two tour games in Sydney to be played between India and Australia A on December 6-8 and December 11-13
