Green salutes at Victorian Open

West Aussie Hannah Green has claimed her first tournament on home soil in emphatic style.


Green won the women's championship by six shots closing the tournament with a final round 71 to finish 13 under.


At one stage on the final day the lead was just two shots but Green was able to hold firm and pull away.


“Vic Open was my first ever professional event so it definitely has special memories coming here," Green said.


"Lots of random memories but good memories here It's nice to have my name on a proper trophy here.”


Another West Aussie Whitney Hiller and Queenslander Karis Davidson were tied second at seven under.


Victorian Dimi Papadatos was crowned the men's champion after landing a birdie on the 18th to avoid a play off with second place Ben Campbell from New Zealand.
