Griffith departs Cricket Tasmania

Adam Griffith has resigned his positions at the Hobart Hurricanes and Cricket Tasmania effective immediately.

Griffith told Cricket Tasmania on Monday that he would not be seeking contract extensions for the positions.

"My two main focuses have always been to win and produce Australian players," Griffiths said.

"There have been several players from both the men's Tigers and Hurricanes programs who have been selected for Australia during the last five years.

"However, while making several finals across both programs, we have not won the trophies the Tasmanian fans deserve ... I feel the time is right for a new hand to help write the next chapters."

The Hurricanes finished fifth on the BBL table and Tasmania are currently third at the half way point of the Shield season.

Griffiths believes he was not done yet with coaching but would take some time away to spend time with his young family.
