Hamlin remains in critical condition

Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin remains in a critical 24-hours after suffering a cardiac arrest during Monday night football.

Hamlin made a routine tackle on Bengals star Tee Higgins with the two appearing to clash helmets in the hit.

The 24-year-old got back to his feet momentarily before stumbling and falling flat onto his back on the turf.

Hamlin was given CPR on-field before being taken by ambulance to University of Cincinnati Medical Centre.

“Damar Hamlin spent last night in the intensive care unit and remains there today in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center,” the Bills posted on their official Twitter account.

“His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”

The match between Buffalo and Cincinnati was postponed and a decision on when the game will be rescheduled has not yet been reached.

Fixtures for week 18 have not been altered and at this stage are expected to proceed as scheduled.
