Hamling set to chase second opinion

Dockers defender Joel Hamling is weighing up his future as he continues to seek a second opinion on his ankle.

AFL.com.au reported on Thursday evening that Hamling attempted to meet with surgeon David Young in Melbourne who treats Bulldogs players but was turned away due to infection.

He has since returned to Perth and will be able to return to be around the group when he passes a COVID test early next week.

The 27-year-old is no closer to playing footy since he first dislocated his left ankle in February.

Fremantle have a lengthy injury list that consists of Alex Pearce, Darcy Tucker, Hayden Young and Griffin Logue.

Other players including Michael Walters, Jesse Hogan and skipper Nat Fyfe have also had soft tissue injuries.
