Herbert and Leishman triumph

Lucas Herbert and Marc Leishman have created Australia's day on the international golf scene in the space of just 24-hours.

It took two playoff holes for Herbert to climb over Christiaan Bezuidenhout and to get the job done to secure his first professional victory in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

“The last 10 minutes feel like I’ve been dreaming,” Herbert said.

“It’s so weird ... it’s the best thing ever, so good.”

Meanwhile, Leishman secured his fifth US PGA title claiming the $US7.5 million Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego.

Leishman finished with a brilliant final round 65 to win by just one shot.

He becomes the third Aussie to win tournaments following on from Wade Ormsby (Hong Kong) and Cameron Smith (Hawaii).

Jason Day tied 17th, Cameron Percy and Cameron Davis tied 36th.
