Hey Doc wins Winterbottom Stakes

Hey Doc has led all the way to claim WA's premier sprint race the group one Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot.

Jockey Luke Currie easily found the top from barrier 13 and was able to hold all rivals at bay.

He kicked clear at the top of the straight and couldn't be chased down by the Ben and Daniel Pearce trained Vital Silver who finished second and Rock Magic third.

The victory gives the father/son training combination Tony and Calvin McEvoy their first group one success.
