Hobart to host fifth Ashes Test
Hobart will host the fifth and final Ashes Test replacing Perth as the venue for the potential decider.
The match will also take extra significance for the Apple Isle as the match has been scheduled as a D/N fixture.
It's Blundstone Arena's first Ashes Test match and won the bid following an extensive and competitive process.
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said they were delighted to be headed to Tasmania.
“There were a range of considerations, including commercial, logistical and operational factors and on the balance of these, the CA board agreed on Blundstone Arena being the most appropriate venue to host the fifth Vodafone Men’s Ashes Test.
“We also acknowledge the postponement of the Australia and Afghanistan Test due to take place in Hobart earlier in the year played a part in the decision.”
