Hot Pies open account in 2020

Collingwood have burst out the blocks in season 2020 handing out a 52-point belting to the Bulldogs.

The Pies were clinical in the 13.8.86 to 5.4.34 clash under an open roof at Marvel Stadium.

Brodie Mihocek booted three goals for winners while Mason Cox and Josh Daicos kicked two majors each.

Mihocek (hip) and Cox (knee) both spent time off the ground during the game but both returned to play out the match.

The Dogs had all individual goal scorers and were flat footed from the outset as the Pies piled on five goals to one in the opening term.

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge was left scratching his head post-game.

"We just got beaten out of the centre, our backs were under immediate pressure straight away and then what a tragic night to play in a Western Bulldogs jersey if you're a forward," Beveridge said.

"It was just a real nightmare."

The Dogs are back at Marvel next week facing the Blues while the Pies meet the Tigers in a Thursday night blockbuster at the MCG.
