Inaugural Docker loses cancer battle

Inaugural Docker Quenton Leach has died after a battle with testicular cancer. He was 47.

Leach played 56 games for the club from 1995 to 1998, and was a member of Fremantle's first ever AFL side against Richmond at the MCG in April 1995.

His finest moment in Dockers colours came in 1997, when he kicked a goal after the siren against Brisbane at Subiaco in round 8 to win the game. He was the first Fremantle player at AFL level to achieve that feat.

Leach was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016, and was reportedly taken in to pallative care this week, passing away on Monday.

He is survived by his wife Shannon and three children.
