Inglis and DuPlessis belt Scorchers to big victory

A scintillating knock from Josh Inglis (74 from 33) and a T20 masterclass from star import Faf DuPlessis (68 from 33) have smashed the Perth Scorchers to a 61-run win over the Melbourne Stars.

Inglis has now two half-centuries in three innings this season with this knock the fastest fifty in this year's tournament to date (25 balls) including six fours and five sixes.

Perth posted 7-229 after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Nick Hobson also played a handy knock scoring 46 from 26 balls which laid the platform.

The Stars needed to chase the third highest total in Big Bash history to win the clash but could only manage 8-168 in response.

Jason Behendorff claimed three wickets and Peter Hatzoglou two to complete a pretty complete Scorchers performance.

Perth is next back in action on Boxing Day at home facing the Adelaide Strikers.
