Injury blow for Glory midfielder

Worst fears for the Perth Glory have been confirmed with midfielder Chris Ikonomidis to miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

Ikonomidis hurt his knee in the side's 2 all draw against Melbourne Victory on Saturday night at HBF Park.

The 24-year-old will be on the sidelines between 9 to 12 months after joining the club in September 2018.

Perth Glory Football Director Jacob Burns said the club is "obviously disappointed for Chris".

"It's always difficult when a player suffers a serious injury, but we have an excellent medical team here at the club who will go above and beyond to provide him with all the assistance and support that he needs to make a full recovery."

The Glory takes on the surprise of the competition the Wellington Phoenix this Friday night at home before embarking for the Asian Champions League.
