Kangaroos coach to take a break

North Melbourne coach Rhyce Shaw will take an indefinite time away from football.

In an email to members Chairman Ben Buckley said the club would support Rhyce and his family through this difficult time.

"Rhyce has asked for some time and space away from football and we have provided him support during this period."

Buckley went on to describe the season as "a terribly testing and difficult year for everyone".

The Kangaroos finished 17th securing just three wins in the season.
