Khawaja set to play in fourth Test

Queensland Usman Khawaja is expected to play Travis Head in the Australian XI for the fourth Test in Sydney.

Head has been ruled out after returning a positive COVID-19 result despite being asymptomatic.

Khawaja who has been travelling with the squad looks certain to bat in the middle some 10-years after his debut at the same venue.

Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Nic Maddinson have also been included in the Test squad but Khawaja is expecting if selected to play just the one Test match.

"If I do get an opportunity, it's always very exciting to play Test cricket, but even more so SCG, where my old home is," Khawaja said.

"If I do play, it'll only be for one game. Heady will come back next game, I understand the situation," he said.

"I know there's still a lot of cricket to come up in the subcontinent, which I feel I'm very suited to too [and] I'm looking forward to hopefully being a part of."

The fourth Test starts at the SCG on Wednesday with Australia leading the five game series 3-nil.
