Liverpool has claimed the English Premier League title for 2019-20 overnight, Manchester City's defeat to Chelsea meaning they could not be caught at the top with seven games remaining.
24 hours earlier the Reds had thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 to emphasise their dominance in a campaign that has seen them only drop one game, securing 86 of a possible 93 points this season.
It is Liverpool's first league title since 1990, the delay in the season due to COVID-19 meaning that Jurgen Klopp's side becomes the latest team to lift the trophy in history (in terms of the month secured) but the earliest in terms of games played, with no side having won the league title with seven games still to play in English football history dating back to 1888.
Celebrations are underway in the town of Liverpool, although somewhat tempered by COVID-19 restrictions.
