Luke Jackson lands at the Dockers

Former Melbourne ruckman Luke Jackson has finally had his deal complete his trade to Fremantle.

The Dockers parted with their top selection at this years draft pick 13 plus their first and second round selections in the 2023 draft and in return, recieved Jackson and picks 44 and 67 in this seasons draft.

Pick number 44 came via GWS which allow Melbourne small forward Toby Bedford to heard north to the Giants.

Fremantle’s head of player personnel David Walls said the club was thrilled after nailing their “number one priority”.

“He’s got so much versatility and so much scope to improve as a player,” he said.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday afternoon Jackson said "it was a big weight off his shoulders".

"I was able to meet with JL and Belly and felt really comfortable around them.

"It looks like I will be playing that ruck/forward role. I will play anywhere that helps the team out.

"I can’t wait to play with Sean Darcy. I think we can both complement each other’s game."

The 21-year-old requested a trade back home to WA last month and was open to the idea of playing at either club but the Dockers were always considered the front runners to secure Jackson.
