Marsh to miss the rest of the top end series

WA Skipper Mitch Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of the top end series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Marsh will fly home after suffering an ankle injury, that is believe not to be serious following Sunday's opening game win in Townsville.

Steve Smith confirmed the news in his press conference on Tuesday morning.

“It’s disappointing for Mitch but there’s some pretty important stuff coming up.

“He was a big part of our T20 World Cup campaign last year and I’m sure there’s big plans for him this year."

Perth Scorcher and WA teammate Josh Inglis will join the squad as a replacement.
