Nature Strip claims the Everest

Nature Strip, one of the world's highest-rated sprinters has finally achieved success in the Everest.

The chestnut won by a slender long head defeating Masked Crusader and Eduardo made up the trifecta.

Jockey James McDonald has now achieved his career ambition adding to his now 55 career Group 1 wins.

“I have never in my life experienced anything like it,’’ McDonald said.

“I don’t think there is a lady or a man over 30 in that crowd and they are going bonkers. It is so good to see – this is awesome.’’

It's been three years of frustration for Nature Strip running seventh last year and fourth in 2019.
