NBA legend killed in helicopter crash

American NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old have tragically passed away in a helicopter crash.

Bryant was travelling with eight other people in his private helicopter when it crashed outside of Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old won five championship rings with the LA Lakers, he was 18-time all-star, 11-time first team All NBA and an NBA MVP.

Bryant will go down as one of the greats of the game.

NBA legend Michael Jordan said he was in shock at the passing of Bryant, saying the Lakers legend was "like a little brother" to him.

"Kobe was also an amazing dad who loved his family deeply and took great pride in his daughter's love for the game of basketball," Jordan said in a statement.
