New Zealand legend lands role in Australia's coaching ranks

New Zealand veteran Daniel Vettori has joined the Australian men's cricket team coaching staff.

Vettori is one of two new additions under the guidance of Head Coach Andrew McDonald.

The other inclusion is Andre Borovec who's worked closely with McDonald during his stints at Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades.

Borovec has no professional playing background but is an experienced high performance coach.

"Andre has been fantastic for the group when he has been involved as an extremely skilled and experienced high-performance coach. He is a great fit culturally and brings the skills to complement our high-performance specialists," McDonald said.

"I have worked with Daniel previously and could not speak more highly of his approach, work ethic and rapport he brings. His experience and balanced style are well documented. He is a great fit and will bring an enormous amount of knowledge to the team."

Michael DiVenuto remains Australia's full-time batting coach, Sri Sriam the spin bowling coach and Clint McKay will also take part in coaching during the upcoming T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
